Dear Parents,

Welcome to the FirstCry Intellitots Newsletter!

July has been a month of learning! As we started with our virtual programs this academic year, kids have slowly learnt to adapt to virtual school. Not only have our teachers switched to virtual teaching immediately, but our tiny Intellitots have also adapted to virtual classrooms from day-1.

This month, we have learnt new things through various events to ensure our creativity is at its peak. We have celebrated the first day of our school, Bakrid, Guru Purnima, World Nature Conservation Day, World Tiger Day, and more!

Here is a glimpse of the activities.

Bakrid Celebrations

Bakrid was celebrated virtually. Our tots enthusiastically participated in craft activities and enjoyed making straw Mosques, hand-made cards and crescent moon with stars. Our teachers imparted the importance of Bakrid to our young minds through the celebrations held online, thus promoting values of respect for different cultures and teaching a lesson of peace, sharing, harmony, happiness, and brotherhood.

World Nature Conservation Day

World Nature Conservation Day was celebrated on the 28th of July. The aim was to inculcate awareness and share the importance of nurturing and protecting nature and natural resources for a greener and better future. Activities like making twig vases, leaf-and-flower Impressions, creating plants with waste leaves, flowers, etc., were conducted during the online sessions. Our obedient tots also planted saplings with a little help from their parents, upon their teachers’ request.

Global Tiger’s Day

On the occasion of Global Tiger Day, our centres organised different activities, such as creating hand-puppet tigers, making tiger bookmarks, and hand printing tigers, during their online sessions to raise awareness about the endangered big cats. A small animated video presented for the tots during the session highlighted the importance of celebrating the day, promoting the protection of the natural habitat of tigers, and increasing awareness about the conservation of tigers. The children were also encouraged to make small videos with the theme slogan “ROAR! TO SAVE TIGERS”.

My FirstCryOi'ites Stories

Intellitots SuperMom_Rekha Mallampally

One of the best decisions that we have taken last academic year was to pull out our twins from their regular school and put them in FirstCry Intellitots in PP1. Here, they enjoyed the personal attention and enjoyed the experience so much. Their online curriculum is so beautiful and informative. At a time when most preschools have shut down, they are doing a commendable job to ensure that learning is not disturbed. Thank you, FC.

This is one of the best playschools I would say from my experience since I had admitted my kid to other few schools before and I didn’t like them much. Teachers are very professional, passionate, and at the same time, they make your kid very comfortable with other kids. And of course, you can see the benefits of the FirstCry brand in the study materials and their curriculum. You will get FirstCry Intellikit also which adds value to learning. And, the fee is also quite reasonable compared to other schools for the facilities they are providing. I am very happy with the schooling! Though it was online last year, they gave their best for my kid.

Red Colour Day Celebrations:

Red is a symbol of love and bonding. Our tots had a gala time celebrating the first primary colour – Red! Clad in red, they explored all red-coloured things.

Paper Bag Day Celebrations:

Paper Bag Day was celebrated to spread awareness about using paper bags instead of plastics. Our tots participated enthusiastically in the activities and learnt the importance of minimising the use of plastic.

Doctor’s Day:

Doctor’s Day was celebrated with a lot of excitement. Our tots learnt that Doctors Day is celebrated to honour the Doctors as they are our real-life superheroes and have contributed selflessly to save many lives during the pandemic. As part of the event, our little ones dressed up as doctors and made beautiful cards to express their gratitude towards them.

Role Play – Community Helpers:

Our children were taught about our community helpers as part of this theme. The tots learnt that community helpers are the individuals who live and work in our community to ensure we stay healthy, safe, and happy. The children also learnt the importance of each aide they see in their daily lives and the services they provide. On the last day, they role-played as community helpers.

Family Day & Neighbourhood Places:

Family Day is celebrated at our centres as both parents and kids can have a great time together and bond with each other. The simple little things parents do with their kids makes a big difference in their lives and helps create strong and healthy relationships. On Family Day, our children also learnt about relations, gestures, respect, and love and care within family members.

Also, as part of the theme – Neighbourhood, the tots took live tours to explore things in their neighbourhoods, such as parks, shops, pharmacies, ATMs, supermarkets, Hospitals, Railway station etc. They had great fun observing their neighbourhoods and learning something new!

Home-Schooling Activities

Our little ones had fun doing other activities like knowing their body parts, senses, free-hand drawing, counting numbers, matching pictures, finger painting, origami crafts, and fireless cooking. These activities enhance children’s creativity, thinking, and problem-solving skills. With these, children can improve their knowledge of basic skills, such as measuring, counting and following instructions. They also help develop fine motor skills as they involve using hands and fingers, improve hand and eye coordination, enhance social skills, encourage self-expression, and boost self-esteem.
