My 4-year-old has started to make thank you cards and distribute it to our security, gardener, domestic-help, and even to the food delivery boys. She has started to be so grateful to all the little things people around her do for us. And this was after the school celebrated Helping Hands Day where they made cards for their helping staff. No wonder the amount of thoughtfulness imbibed in young minds is going to pave a long way!
Recently on our visit to a park, Avish was insisting to buy balloons and I bought them for him. No sooner, there was another kid who was pointing at the balloon from afar and for some reason, her mother kept reluctant to buy them for the kid. My little one who so loves balloons, took out 2 from the bunch and gave it over to the other kid. I was so happy to see him sharing things he equally loves.
“EARLY TO BED, EARLY TO RISE MAKES A PERSON HEALTHY WEALTHY AND WISE” is the slogan in my home since Meghna’s teacher supposedly repeats it over every morning during the circle time. She now keeps asking the time and to know if she is getting late to go to bed. Really happy with this early bedtime habit inculcated in her without me having to battle.
Whether for home use or when you’re ordering a drink outside, plastic straws can just be avoided and replaced with paper straws. Since straws are often a single-use item that’s simply easy to substitute with a degradable material.
Microplastics are these days commonly added to consumer products like face wash and toothpaste; supposedly intended to act as exfoliators. Avoid products with “polypropylene” or “polyethylene”.
