Dear Parents,

First and foremost, we wish you a very Happy New Year and welcome to the FirstCry Intellitots Newsletter!

January was the month of celebrations filled with the patriotism of Republic Day and the sweetness of Pongal and Makar Sankranti. Our little tots had great fun celebrating this month’s events while learning new things.

The events and activities hosted at the Firstcry Intellitots centres made sure that children learn things every day with fun and curiosity. Not only do these activities help in learning but also boost their socio-emotional skills.

Let’s take a peek at the times our tots had non-stop fun!

Road Safety Week

The Road Safety Week (11th January to 17th January) organized at the Intellitots centres taught young minds about road etiquettes. The tiny tots were taught how to act responsibly on the roads for the safety of all. Teachers sensitized the children about the rules and various signboards on the road, how to drive safely to avoid accidents, and the precautionary measures to be taken while driving, riding or walking on the road to keep yourself and your family safe.

Children also participated in various exciting activities concerning road safety, like creating paper plate traffic signals. Our tots learnt about traffic signals while making delicious snacks, such as traffic light fruit skewers using strawberry, banana, and grapes, and with Bourbon biscuits, gems, peanut butter, and our very own favorite traffic signal sandwich. These activities were not only fun but were very tasty and healthy. The fun day ended with a short, animated story on road safety.

Virtual Makar Sankranti, Pongal, and Lohri Celebrations

On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Pongal, and Lohri, the FirstCry Intellitots centres organized virtual celebrations for tiny tots to celebrate popular harvest festivals of India. Little ones dressed up in beautiful traditional clothing to pay tribute to harvest festivals, including Lohri, Makar Sankranti, and Pongal.

Children merrily participated in craft activities, such as making beautiful Pongal pots, DIY handmade paper sugarcane, Pongal thoranam, and colorful paper kites. The tots also learned how Makar Sankranti is celebrated in different parts of India with different names by watching a small animated video.

Virtual Annual Day and Republic Day Celebrations

This year Firstcry Intellitots celebrated its second Virtual Annual Day on 26th January, 2022 along with the Republic Day celebrations. Little tots and their parents enthusiastically participated and surprised all the guests with their wonderful performances in which they represented different cultures of India and justified the theme of this year’s Annual Day – ‘Unity is Diversity’.

Our hardworking and talented teachers had not left a single stone unturned to give the children a real-time Annual Day experience by creating beautiful backgrounds, delivering spectacular performances, arranging live games, and more. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem making the day an unforgettable experience for everyone.

My FirstCryOi'ites Stories

Intellitots SuperMom_Swati Gandhi

My child is a Nursery student in FirstCry Intellitots Playschool and the experience so far has been incredible. They are very good at nurturing the kids. At the same time, they provide a very creative and a friendly environment for the kids to learn more. They are extremely good at arts and crafts that makes the kids understand things by seeing and doing together. Also, they celebrate all the events and festivals with great enthusiasm. Apart from classroom teaching, they conduct activities outside in the open play area which is very essential for the kid’s growth. Both the teaching and non-teaching staff loves and takes care of the kids really well.

The teachers are so passionate and they help kids learn well. They encourage the curiosity of the kids and have lot of activities to engage them. Personal experience with my kid was awesome. The center head Bindu is taking all care to give good experience for the kids by making the environment conducive and arranging multiple events for the kids and parents too. One significant event was the farm day where we got to experience a mini farm trip in the school. They have a good play area and infrastructure.

World Braille Day

Every 4th of January, World Braille Day is celebrated to pay tribute to Louis Braille, recognizing his great achievements that helped the world. Louis Braille was the inventor of the Braille language through which blind and visually impaired people can read and write.

Firstcry Intellitots centres celebrated this special day by engaging children in Braille Day activities. Little tots closed their eyes and used their senses to touch and feel the Braille script they had created with the help of our teachers. The children were very delighted to know how Braille language helps in imparting education to visually impaired people worldwide, just like they are learning with the help of their teachers. It was a fun and enlightening experience for all the tots.

Home Schooling Activities

Having fun while learning is core to our philosophy, our teachers made sure that children’s learning is not limited to textbooks. The little tots had a great time indulging in activities, such as creating volcanos out of soda and vinegar, making healthy and fireless snacks with corn, etc.

FirstCry Intellitots ECO CARE

  1. Reuse: Reuse your leftover food as much as you can. If you cannot, donate it to food-raising organisations as there is always someone who needs food.
  2. Organic Fertilisers: Don’t throw the peels of fruits and vegetables away. Dig a hole in a pot full of mud and layer the peels and skins of vegetables and fruits with mud to make organic fertilisers.
  3. Pick ugly fruit and vegetables: Oddly-shaped or bruised fruits and vegetables are often thrown away because they don’t meet arbitrary cosmetic standards. Use mature fruit for smoothies, juices and desserts.
